Dr Bronner’s Magic Castille Soap-Recipes for shower products

We know that Dr. Bronner’s is amazing stuff as Scottie wrote about in her tip of the month a while back, so today I have a couple of recipes for using this magical product in the shower.

I have been struggling with finding a shaving cream/gel since I started cleaning out my shower products, hair care, makeup etc etc etc….I used to use Skintimates and found out that even the one that is white in color actually has blue and yellow dyes in it.  I then tried regular bath soap, but I am very sensitive under the arms and tend to break out at the drop of a hat.  I tried Dr. Bronner’s solo on the underarms when shaving and it didn’t offer enough smoothness when shaving.  So, I added sweet almond oil(about half and half) and put in a little bottle, this works so wonderfully and guess what!?  It leaves no razor bumps whatsoever!  Not only that, but I get a really clean shave without those excess hairs!  I just love it and you only need to use a little bit on each side. I usually suggest to shave with the growth of the hair and you can shave from angles as well but keep going with the natural growth. All of my under arm break outs have now ceased to exist!

I also used it for Body Wash and you can add drops of lavender oil to this(argan oil is great too)….really any oil that you would like to add moisture to the body.  Dr. Bronner’s is not super moisurizing but is really unbelievable for huge variety of purposes.

I highly suggest keeping this around for so many things, even as Scottie wrote here, laundry detergent!!

You can also use for a shampoo but I would suggest adding a lavender oil to it to keep it from getting to dried out, sweet almond oil is also good. Add it to distilled water(about half the amount as Dr Bronner). Then add an oil, here is a great site to figure out which oils work best for different hair types. Test it out first so you know how much oil to use, then make a little batch to keep in the shower.
