The Polyphonic Spree concert in Atlanta and Koch fashion

Last weekend, we went to see one of our favorite bands, The Polyphonic Spree at The Loft in Atlanta. We always love seeing them, because they have such an uplifting show. It’s like a spiritual evening of everyone singing and jumping up and down, the entire band draws you in and it’s an intimate night. They had about 15 band members on stage this time from the core band lineup, to keyboards, harp, cello player, a horn section and of course a choir. The cello player and harpist were entrancing and of course the choir or “angels” sang beautifully. Not to mention the amazing frontman, songwriter and band leader extraordinaire, Tim DeLaughter who gives his all at every performance!!  He even came out into the middle of the crowd and had everyone sit down campfire style to sing “Battlefield” to us!

The Spree have evolved over the years fashion wise from robes to military inspired black uniforms to now the lovely dresses the gals are now wearing and the cool tops the guys are wearing. I happened to love the look and after chatting with one of the girls from the choir, some even take time to coordinate their fashion. I love that! The ladies adorable dresses were made by Koch Designs of Dallas and I will post an interview soon with the designer/owner, Nicole soon.  The dresses had little ties on the inside so you pull it in at the waist, as you can see below on two of the Spree “angels”(on the right, the ties are cinched at the waist).  Tim designed the men’s shirts and they were also made by Koch!

I really loved the stage design too!  It was so fun, colorful and really added to the Spree ambience!  This was done by Dallas artists, The Color Condition!

Here are a few pics and a setlist.
