HiQ Cosmetics : Organic Skincare
HiQ Cosmetics is an all natural and organic skincare line based out of Atlanta dedicated to making a safe line using only the highest quality, organic ingredients available including powerful antioxidant, CoQ10. The owners of the company, Holly and Patrick, are passionate about organic and natural products and decided to help contribute to the world by developing their own brand. HiQ not only searches out the best and safest organic ingredients but uses sustainable practices in their production and packaging. I love that they do this because there are a lot of companies in this industry now that still use a lot of plastic or non biodegradable packaging.

We include USDA certified Organic ingredients. Our products are not tested on animals and are Made in the U.S.A. Our products are vegan, non-oily, gluten-free, and are ideal for sensitive skin. Additionally, we design our products to be packed with anti-aging benefits for radiant, smooth, healthy skin, no matter your skin type or age.”
HiQ currently has a face serum, eye serum, a bundle of the two and a moisturizer is in the pipeline. I use the face serum in my nightly regiment and I love it!
Here is my interview with one of the owners if the company, Holly Carpenter:
Bella: How did you become aware and passionate about organic skincare, etc?
HC: As a graduate student at Emory, my work was focused on creating new collagen and elastin protein materials for use in the medical industry. Collagen and elastin are essential for controlling the strength and elasticity of human skin. I have always been passionate about health and fitness but I started to realize how important the skin was at protecting us and helping us to interface with our environment. It was then that I really began researching what was in skincare products and what ingredients are used in common skincare products. After finishing school, I taught biochemistry at the University of North Georgia and continued researching ingredients over those 7 years. I had several students who did independent studies on the activity of essential oils, natural enzyme exfoliants like pineapple, creating natural makeup products, and other natural peptides. After years of reading about the health effects of many synthetic ingredients as well as studying how natural and organic ingredients work best, I decided I could make a skincare line of my own that was better than any other on the market. I also had rosacea for many years and had been using a prescription cream and wash that dried my skin and caused breakouts. Once I started making my own natural serum prototypes, I no longer had to use the prescription products and my skin started to thrive! My dream was to launch a new skincare line with only the best natural ingredients at high amounts to give the best results.
Bella: When did you come up with idea of developing a skincare line and start putting together a business plan? And then how long from their to fruition of your idea?
HC: After Patrick and I met, with his passion for aesthetics and marketing as well as his expertise gained working at the CDC, we became an amazing team determined to create a breakthrough new serum that gave amazing results with all-natural ingredients. We started the business in 2013 and brought our first product to market in 2015. HiQ Cosmetics was born! It was an exciting time full of hard work and failures but also success. We now have 2 products, our Anti-aging HiQ Facial Serum and our Rejuvenating HiQ Eye Serum. We embrace the concept that skincare should nourish and protect the skin, and also that beauty comes from the inside out. Taking care of yourself though diet and exercise also helps the skin to perform at its best. We add vitamins and essential nutrients to our products at high levels so that your skin has all it needs to grow and maintain but also to become more radiant. Our dream is now a reality, and I could not be more excited about the future!
Bella: What was your process for finding ingredients and where are your products produced?
HC: After comprehensive research and clinical studies to determine what ingredients go into our products at high amounts, we source our natural and organic ingredients though our manufacturing facility in California.
Bella: Do you have plans to grow the company or what is your vision for the future of HiQ?
HC: We are excited to build out the HiQ line in 2018 and bring a moisturizer as well as a cleanser to market. The future is bright and we are off to a great start!
Bella: Any other tidbits about the company?
HC: We have a passion for sustainability and environmental consciousness. Our bottles are made of a high-quality German glass that is BPA free as well as recyclable. The glass is very dark to preserve the product inside and maintain activity of the ingredients. We use pump tops for the bottles made in Milan, Italy and our printing, packaging, and any boxes we use are FSC certified. I enjoy making my own products because you can really choose every aspect of the product ingredients, packaging, and shipping to meet higher standards!
