This Friday at Gypsy + Magnolia boutique in Buckhead, I will be hosting my first pop up shop with my good friend Julia of Georgia May Skincare (see previous blog here). We are aligned in raising awareness in our community and beyond about natural and organic skincare, beauty products, food and fashion as well as local companies.  This will be the first of many and it happens to coincide with the relaunch/merger of my blog(s)!   You can check my Facebook for the invite and details on the event.  Gypsy + Magnolia will offer a 20% discount for shoppers and we will have lite bites, sips and a fashion show!

“Gypsy + Magnolia mixes your favorite bohemian muses, from Jimmy Page to Penny Lane, with southern hospitality to create a style that will have you leaving looking and feeling like a rock star. Our purpose is to offer people clothes that have a story. Whether it is a necklace that is handmade by a friend and local artist or an embroidered coat from Australia that tells a story of another culture.”

I stopped by G+M this past Friday for a preview of what we will show and to take some photos in a few outfits and highlight a few of their eco friendly, sustainable, handmade and local designers.   This mom and daughter duo have done an amazing job of not only choosing lines to carry, but being very thoughtful with it and the decor of the boutique. It has the coolest vibe and feels like a place you want to hang out at! “Mama Gypsy” hand makes all these extra large dream catchers, plus they reuse/repurpose furniture they already had to hang clothes from/display products in. She and her daughter, Angela work together to stock some really cool and unique brands. Their website is great and you can purchase online or in store (which is just a great experience if you’re in town).

Here are my top three outfits that most represented my style:

More info about info about the designers:

Mamie Ruth:
Created by Georgia native, Emily Bargeron, in Savannah Georgia. Designed or creative thinkers, peacemakers, and girls that just want to have fun. Mamie Ruth designs are handmade with love with an attempt to combat the extremely wasteful textile industry. She uses eco-friendly sustainable materials, overproduced dead stock fabrics, and repurposed vintage.

Bou Cou Jewelry: Made right here in Atlanta by Becka Cowan, Bou Cou jewelry captures the idea that what is personal is often universal. Her pieces are meant to transcend trends and be accessible to all people. Bou Cou pieces are often hand made using exotic stones, rare beads, and vintage treasures.

RAGA: Raga in ancient sanskrit means both melody and color, a raga is believes to have the power to paint the spirit of the lives it touches. This brand, founded by Krishna Chaudry and his sons, seeks to empower the RAGA woman to paint the world with their authenticity.

Kultcha Collective: Designed by Kaidee Peel, along with her husband Bulan, the line is inspired by the spirit and beauty found throughout their travels to different cultures. Kaidee seeks to find new embellishments, fabrics, and manufacturing techniques around the world and brings them back to her studio in Australia to create quality garments, jewelry, and wearable art.

I Love Tyler Madison: As animal rights activists and true devotees of canine rescue missions, I ♥ Tyler Madison is a proud supporter of the SPCA & ASPCA. After all, our pups are pretty much our silent (or loud barking) third and fourth business partners. Who knows where we’d be without their acceptance. Probably fighting with a top button in a fitting room somewhere.

D’Blanc: sunglasses made in Italy. “Expanded by experience, perspective turns what we do and what we see into the beliefs and values that guide our way. It is the filter through which we construct meaning from the tangle of modern madness. It shapes the way we see the world and frames our sense of self. It is everything. Feed your eyes and feel the feeling, this is our perspective.”

LenniLENNI the label was born out of the success of her first project Lenni Vintage – which released one-off pieces of hand crafted refurbished denim and an eclectic mix of vintage. Demand for these undeniably original collections grew out of control, seeing her creations being featured in various Australian and international publications, gaining over 200,000 online followers and also traveling to Paris to design a capsule collection for a major French chain store.
After years of research on fabrics, manufacturing, labour, and of course fashion demand internationally, Lenni opened her business (in early 2013) and released the first collection through her own label – ‘LENNI’.

Lanston: Following the successful launch of krisa, designer Krisabelle Ann Tan debuted her T-Shirt based collection: Lanston. With an expert eye on construction, fit and tailoring, the highly coveted grouping of styles fuses luxury with downtown cool.  Lanston pieces are constructed with a heritage that embraces you as you wear them. Each piece of Lanston is hand crafted in Los Angeles from the finest fabrics. The relaxed separates and dresses offer a directional look with an effortless attitude.
