Senhoa Foundation

I recently discovered a beautiful jewelry line from a non profit organization called Senhoa Foundation, who “are dedicated to combating modern-day slavery through long-lasting partnerships with proven local partners. Together, we combine our knowledge and experience to create holistic prevention, rehabilitation and advocacy programs that are culturally sensitive and respectful of service users.”

Senhoa works with a variety of partners and designers to provide women in high risk situations with a job, income, the ability to use their talent and creativity and make their way out of terrible circumstances. I am truly moved by what this company does!

I found them because I follow two inspirational and beautiful models/yoga teachers who happen to be twin sisters and have a stunning Instagram page! One of them,Crissy(can you tell them apart?),is married to noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker and you can tell from their photos, because they are simply sublime!  They designed a line of beautiful, delicate necklaces, body chains, ear cuffs and more to contribute to this wonderful cause.  I reached out to the company to feature their products on my blog as well as my ethical online boutique, which is launching this month!

The Chin Twins developed The Clarity Collection which “speaks to the mind, body and spirit with an intention to empower the women of Cambodia who create each piece, to enrich their children with hope and emancipate them from the hardships they face. Collection shot by Nigel Barker.”

Here I am photographed in the “Awaken Chain”, which is just stunning and if you go to their website, there is a mantra with each item!

Mantra: “I am awake to my inner guide.”

This is the “Harmony Chain”

Mantra: “I am at peace and one with all living beings.”

The Freedom 5 Loop Bracelet.

“Take every Chance. Drop every fear.”

“Each Chance bracelet provides safe employment for survivor artisans and at-risk women. Profits from this initiative also fund the education and protection of street-working children and their families from human trafficking and exploitation.”

Senhoa has some really amazing programs and all of the really impactful intiatives they are involved in, click here is a link to this information.

Some more fun facts about Senhoa, since I’m also a yoga teacher, I was drawn to the name. They have trademarked the name and logo, a lotus flower.  “Senhoa (pronounced “suh-no-a”) is a combination of two Vietnamese words – “Sen” (lotus) and “Hoa” (flower). A lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with breathtaking beauty, untouched by its impure surroundings. Using this imagery, “Senhoa” was conceptualized in 2007 to represent women and children, vulnerable to sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking. The Senhoa lotus flower is an enduring symbol of innocence, resilience and hope.”
